Willie L. Jones, 83, Independence, MO, passed away May 20, 2005 at Camden Nursing Home, Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25 at Second Baptist Church, Independence, MO. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Jones was a long time member and deacon at Second Baptist Church, Independence, MO. He also played for the KC Monarchs and the Harlem Globe Trotters. Mr. Jones served his country during WWII as a Combat Engineer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian and one granddaughter, Tori. Mr. Jones is survived by his sons, Jonathan and fiance, Melissa and John and fiance, Jennifer, all of Independence; two daughters; and 14 grandchildren, Terrill, Marcelus, NaShai, JeRon, DeShon, TraNae, DeRon, Nathan, Zachariah, Jocelyn, Jaelyn, Jaren, Jordyn and Kobe and countless other family members and friends. Willie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
