Wilma Wanstreet

Wilma Wanstreet, 74, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother  passed away on November 14, 2024 at North Care Hospice House.

She was born to Elmer and Wenona(Geyer) McChesney on May 25th, 1950. Wilma studied at Van Horn High School. Wilma married the love of her life in 1969. Together they had three children: Kathy Smith (Randy Smith), Billy Wanstreet Jr, and Jeff Wanstreet (Jackie Franzi). She was a loving a devoted grandmother to her 6 grandchildren: Jake Dulin(Hayley Crutcher), Kimberly Andrus(Lucas Andrus), Kayla Grimes, Carly Wanstreet, Kennedy Wanstreet, and Jayce Wanstreet. Her love for her 4 great grandchildren is unmatched: Kinsley and Easton Andrus and Olivia and Ryan Smith.

She was a franchise owner for Winchells donuts. Her dedication and hard work were evident in all aspects of her life. Wilma will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by Elmer(Father), Wenona(Mother), Big Ed(Brother), and her loving husband Bill.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, from 2pm-4pm at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, MO.

    Wilma was my moms childhood friend and she got me my first job working at Winchell’s Donuts. She was an amazing woman. My condolences to her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    I have the fondest memories of Wilma. She was funny, warm and loving. I always loved seeing her. We always had a great time when she visited L.A. She will be missed
