Winfred (Gene) Taylor, 81, passed away Wednesday March 31, at home from pancreatic cancer. Services will be held Monday April 5, at St. Mark‘s Catholic Church, 3736 Lee‘s Summit, Rd, Independence, MO. Visitation at 8:30 AM, Mass at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or The American Diabetes Association.
Gene was born in Kansas City, KS, and spent his life in the KC area residing in Raytown the last 38 years. Gene served his country in the Navy and later in the Marine Corp, during the Korean War. Gene was a retired truck driver and a member of Teamsters Local 41. Gene loved golf and socializing with friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Kathryn, and second wife of 7 years, Faye, brothers; Jack and Alfred, and 2 grandchildren, Jennifer and Daniel Taylor.
Gene is survived by his children; Jack Taylor (Marie) of Lee‘s Summit, MO, John Taylor of Kansas City, MO, Deborah Martin (Art) of Polo, MO, Robert Taylor (Lori) of Raytown, MO and Gene Jr. of Fort Dix, NJ. Also surviving him are 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Ethel Taylor.
