Wyoma L. Caton

Wyoma L. Caton, 84, of Otterville passed away March 4, 2018 in Columbia. Wyoma was born May 11, 1933 in Rockypoint, Wyoming. She enjoyed fishing, baking, gardening, watching wildlife from her home and was an avid knitter and crocheter. All of her family members will miss her and her warm socks and other crafted goods. She was very proud of all of her family and many times would let others know all about her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids. Her family meant the world to her. Prior to retirement, Wyoma was a nurse’s aide and so loved caring for her patients and was continually interested in all facets of nursing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of eight years, Arthur Dean Caton; one son, Patrick Eugene Meyer; parents, Guy and Nellie Montgomery of Wyoming; sisters, Alice Bailey and husband Paul; Florence Montgomery; brother, Robert Cole and wife Betty; brother-in-law, Jack Borron; and a granddaughter-in-law Robin Schoen.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Schoen (Robert) of Otterville, Frank Meyer (Annette) of Otterville, Pam Twenter (Dave) of Pilot Grove and Anita “Nina” Oldham (Curt) of Syracuse. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and four sisters: Clarice Ruckman of Sedalia, Faye Borron of Wyoming, Willie Thiemann of Washington and Helen Geer of Wyoming, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

It was Wyoma’s wish to be cremated and have her ashes returned to Wyoming. She did not wish to have a visitation or service but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please make memorial donations to a charity of your choosing in her name.
